Miss Bailey's Blog - Week 3, 2023
Despite the kaleidoscope of weather experiences we have had this last week, it has been good to see most scheduled activities go ahead, as planned. You will be seeing far more of our enrichment activities on social media with our drive to make the daily and special workings of Godstowe more visible and shared amongst our community and beyond. I have enjoyed seeing the hockey, dance, horse riding, boarding, coding and arts and crafts photographs being showcased this week and there will be many more to follow. In Main School, the girls are buzzing about their lunch time clubs and the return of the gymnastics and dance workshops. The Year 7 and 8 Production and casting is well underway which we are all looking forward to in November!
The St Edward's Headmaster and his Roadshow Team were here on Monday which was impressive, and it was good to have them on home ground, so to speak. When we have more Senior Heads visiting, I shall let you know well in advance as more Heads seem to be far more amenable to speaking to our girls, parents and staff which I think is absolutely right and very useful for us all!
In assembly last week I set the tone for the new school year, setting out my top ten focus points for our community. These were a collection of words and themes to help bring our community together and set us all off in the right direction. These words were as follows: kind, gracious and courteous, inclusive, non-judgmental and open-minded, courageous, compassionate and community-minded, honest, respectful to one another, patient, self- caring, collaborative and wise. My hope is that these can be made into individual assemblies and talking- points over the year.
Have a wonderful Exeat Weekend and we hope you found the Main School Induction talks this afternoon useful and informative.
