Miss Bailey's Blog - Week 25, 2024
Excitement is gradually building for the end of term next week. The girls heading to the USA on their Lacrosse Tour are in final practices, Lodge are off on their Welly Walk today and putting final touches to Easter bonnets and Main School girls are rehearsing for our final Spring Concert on Thursday. At Celebration Assembly this morning there were a vast range of awards, including our Pi mathematician winners from Maths Week and the prestigious beekeepers/eco-champions! Never a dull day at Godstowe!
Last night, I was invited to speak at Bute House School in London last night and travelled into the City with Jo Duncan at Wycombe Abbey with us both speaking alongside Jane Gandee from St Swithun's Winchester. The parents we spoke to loved our Godstowe offering, and it was a chance to unite and advocate for the merits of girls' education. Building the confidence, resilience and compassion of our girls is a huge privilege and it was good to hear how other schools are investing in the well-being of their students and communities. Introducing Godstowe to a new audience of parents always goes well and I shall be attending a range of speaking events where we plan to do just that, and it is exciting to be waving the Godstowe flag, ever further afield.
Wasn't the Transition Gym Display brilliant on Wednesday this week. Mrs Village had certainly worked her magic with a group of confident and enthusiastic young gymnasts. Before that, we welcomed our Lodge families to Main School for a fun look ahead to life in the Lower and Upper School and a tour with some of our Fourths. A true highlight for me this week and I hope we can do more events where our families can feel connected and supported as we face forward. I shall be offering the chance to speak with Lodge families again just ahead of Perriss Knight Awards next Thursday, if you missed it.
Have a wonderful weekend full of rest and relaxation.
