Miss Bailey's Blog - Week 24, 2024
We do World Book Day well at Godstowe and yesterday was a flurry of colour, creativity, excitement and great fun! One young girl walking the site had commandeered an entire set of kitchen saucepans, sieves and accoutrements, and was clunking and clattering from class to class. I have to say, I laughed out loud, having never seen that in all my time in schools. Maleficent was popular this year and we had a spookily staged shot with girls and Miss Lambert no less, looking suitably maniacal! Lodge and Nursery was alive with familiar literary faces and the Nursery went the extra mile! The photographs are a great showcase of tremendous effort and a shout out should go to our 12 Year 8 girls, who each came as a character from Alice in Wonderland, looking wonderful as a collective effort- well done, girls!
Tonight, is our final night of the Year 5 musical production of Kitty Whittington. We have seen some beautiful examples of the girls in action recently, with girls attending the Caldicott Monologue Slam last week and our in-house Public Speaking Final this week. I am delighted to see the girls being given a wide range of opportunities to showcase their performance skills and prowess. Kitty Whittington is a charming and captivating tale and the Year 5 girls have worked hard to bring the story to life with impressive singing, acting, stunningly choreographed dance scenes and some trademark comedy moments. Kitty, Miss Tillbury: the list of standout actresses is endless, and I hope to see many of you here in the JK tonight.
Another hardworking week across Nursery, Lodge and Main School and with our Kindness in Bucks community initiative is in full swing welcoming many young mothers with their little swimmers on Tuesday! I now look forward to welcoming our transition parents to Main School on Wednesday 13th next week for a fun welcome and introduction to what lies ahead in Form I in September. This will be followed by Mrs Village's Transition Gym Display- can't wait to see you all!
Have a super weekend, everyone!
