Introduction to Prep

Godstowe is remarkable in many ways: it is non-selective on entry but is one of the most academically successful prep schools in the UK. In the earliest stages our pupils follow a broad, but highly structured curriculum in which literacy and numeracy are of the utmost importance.

Lessons are stimulating and children are encouraged to think for themselves, to question and to debate. Classroom boundaries are often stretched through visits within the local area and more distant excursions and field trips.

In a happy and secure environment, children learn with confidence, creativity and focus. 

The teachers are especially nurturing and committed to bringing out the best in every child. Learning and teaching are active, exciting and coherent. Teachers present subject matter in imaginative ways and frequently use games, role play and stimulating projects in addition to more traditional teaching styles.
