Boarders' Corner - 12th / 13th September

It's been a jam-packed week and all of our boarders are settling in well and starting to get in the Godstowe routine. For some of our first time boarders, it's been slightly more turbulent, but we are pleased to report that they have all shown outstanding effort to overcome their worries and truly embrace all that boarding life has to offer at Godstowe.

This week, the girls tried their hand at an array of activities, finishing it off with a Friday movie night. Duvets downstairs and tuck in hand, it was a relaxing way to go into the weekend. Friday fun over and the girls woke up to their first weekend in the Houses this year. Saturday started with the mundane but crucial task of finishing off any prep before the fun continued. After a tasty lunch, we filled up our water bottles and headed down to the park for the afternoon. Climbing frames and basket swings can be tiring fun though, so after a while, we all sat down to eat our ice creams. The most popular flavour appeared to be bubblegum, we all had a chuckle at the blue faces and even teeth(!) before heading back up the hill to go for our supper. The evening ended with showers and, in Walker, Miss Allan's choice of film, Shrek, before a well-earned sleep.

After an adventurous Saturday, we spent Sunday doing onsite activities with our fellow houses, Turner and Highlands. The girls learned their way around the school site doing a scavenger hunt, with a choc-ice at the end. Then, it was onto a short swimming session before a hot shower and our evening BBQ. It was lovely seeing girls from the three houses playing together on Sunday evening and a perfect way to finish our weekend.
