Boarders' Corner - Highlands Interview Boarding Assistant
What do you enjoy most about boarding?
My favourite part of the job is spending time with the kids and wanting them to grow and learn. I enjoy nurturing their natural talent and learning from them as much as they learn from me.
How has boarding impacted your life?
Working in boarding is my first experience working within a team, and I have learnt a whole set of skills particularly under the Housemistress of highlands. These are skills I will carry with me for the rest of my working life.
What is your favourite part of working with the girls in boarding?
Honestly.. Just having chats with the girls and spending time with them. They are an amazing bunch of girls who I look forward to seeing when I come into work everyday.
What will you miss the most when you leave in December?
I will miss working within such a supporting and inclusive team. The highlands team has become my sort of family.
What are your next steps after Godstowe.
This job has inspired me towards a teaching pathway. This job has taught me that I love being with children and I cannot wait to continue to learn and grow.
What is your favourite memory?
One of my core memories while working in Highlands was in the summer term, during a warm and sunny afternoon. The girls asked me to play a series of games including ‘cross the bridge’ and ‘gang up tiggy’. We had so much fun!
