Introducing the 2024 Boarding Gaps
We're pleased to welcome our new 2024 Boarding Gap Assistants. They've written a little introduction to themselves as we get to know them and welcome them to Godstowe.
Sienna Rossi - Walker
My name is Miss Rossi and I am from Bowral NSW, Australia, which is a country town an hour south of Sydney. I just graduated high school in December of last year at Chevalier College where I completed my studies. Growing up I spent a lot of time at my family's winery, as well as time by the beach on the weekends with friends and family, and played lots of sports which included travelling around NSW for representative Basketball and Netball. This year I am most excited to travel around Europe in the summer and most importantly to have been given this opportunity here at Godstowe, as I can't wait to get involved with all aspects of boarding school life and extracurricular activities, especially sport!
Sasha De Angelis - Walker
My name is Miss De Angelis and I am from Sydney, Australia. I went to a school called Monte Sant Angelo Mercy College, like Godstowe it was an all girls school but we didn’t have any boarding as it is right in the middle of the city. My favourite subject was PDH/PE in school and I loved playing netball, touch football and occasionally competing in aerobics competitions on the weekends. My favourite thing to do is spend time with my friends and family and go to the beach. I’m excited this year to get to know all the girls at Godstowe, see new places and spend time with family from the UK.
Jenna Munro - Highlands
My name is Miss Munro and I’m from Canberra in Australia. I’ve just finished my studies at Radford College. I am a keen sports person, especially football which I have played for most of my life. I have also coached a girls team in Australia this past year. After this year I am going back home to Australia to start a pre-medicine degree. My hopes for this year is to have fun with the girls while helping them learn in a supportive environment.
Alex Walker - Turner
My name is Miss Walker and I am a Turner House gappie. I'm originally from Sydney, Australia, and I recently graduated from Queenwood School for Girls, an all-girls school. I have a keen interest in sports, having tried my hand at many, but my top favourites are basketball, touch football, and AFL (Australian football). I particularly enjoy going to the beach and spending time with friends whenever I have spare time. My favourite subject at school was Design Technology, particularly because I'm planning to explore design and architecture in my further studies next year. During my year abroad, I'm thrilled not only to travel and discover new places but also to engage in a unique experience of working, teaching, and connecting with younger girls.
Tess Manterfield - Turner
My name is Miss Manterfield and I am currently a gap in Turner House. I’m a born and bred South African but have frequently been told that I don’t sound like one in the couple days I’ve been here! I recently finished my schooling years in the Mother City, Cape Town, at St Cyprian’s School. I’ve been fortunate to have grown up with a family that loves to travel to all the nooks and crannies of the world such as Madagascar and Vietnam, presenting me with a vast array of experiences that have stuck with me and am so excited to pass forward to the lovely students of Godstowe. I absolutely adore anything waterbased as I represented my school in waterpolo for 7 years and am a keen bean for scuba diving. After my gap year, I hope to go on to study Biomedical or Environmental Engineering back in South Africa.
