Maths Challenge for Form II
Last Friday afternoon, four of our Form II mathematicians enjoyed an afternoon of mathematical activities at Davenies School. The girls were representing Godstowe at the Year 4 Maths Challenge against a whole host of local schools. They paired up and worked together trying to solve puzzles, problems and activities to earn them points. The rounds came thick and fast throwing all sorts of things at the pupils - sudoku, tangrams, dominoes, shopping challenges, working backwards and some good old fashioned number work too. The girls really enjoyed the opportunity to see that maths is not just about sums in the classroom, but also teaches us a whole range of useful skills. Although they didn’t come away with a prize this time, we were really proud of how well they got stuck in, threw themselves into all of the activities and persevered at some really tricky challenges. Well done girls!
