Godstowe Celebrates Library Week with New eBooks!

We are very excited to let you know about the latest addition to the Godstowe School Library - an eBook platform.

Girls are now able to borrow from a selection of more than 1400 eBooks to read on their digital devices. The books are all suitable for our Main School age range.

The ePlatform works with most devices, including iPad, Tablet, Windows 8/10 laptop/desktop and iPhone or Android Phone. 

All girls will be able to enjoy accessing the eBooks at home, or anywhere with an internet connection.  Pupils in the Upper School may also read eBooks on their devices in school.  

We demonstrated the ePlatform in library lessons this week. We hope that many girls will enjoy this alternative way of reading, particularly at this time, when due to COVID restrictions, access to our physical Library is slightly limited.

The Library is open to borrow books, but girls are not yet able to stay to read, study, or take quizzes. Small groups visit in their library lessons and at lunchtimes, following a timetable designed to keep year group bubbles apart.  Everyone sanitises their hands before handling books.  All returned books are being quarantined for 72 hours before going back onto the shelves. The pile of 250 books coming out of quarantine on Monday shows that although access to the Library may be limited, Godstowe’s enthusiasm for reading is not! 

Keen readers can order titles online to be delivered to their classrooms, and we hope that our new eBook platform will enable anyone who has to remain at home to continue using the Library.
