Godstowe awarded Accelerated Reader Master School status
For the third year running, Godstowe is amongst the top few schools of the 5000 who use the Accelerated Reader scheme in the UK. We heard at the end of last term that we have once again qualified as an Accelerated Reader Master School. This recognises the amount of time that our girls spend reading and also their success in their quizzes.
Across the school, more than eight out of ten girls have averaged at least 85% in their quizzes so far this year, and our average daily reading time stands at 38 minutes per person - well above the 25 minutes required to qualify for the award. When we go back into school we should have another engraved plaque to display outside the Library.
In addition, six of our classes have already earned places on the Roll of Honour as Master Classes for the amount of time they have spent reading and their consistently high quiz scores. These are IT, 6C, 6D, 6F, 7J and 7K. These girls will receive rewards, but this will be delayed by the school closure.
This is a fantastic achievement for Godstowe! Well done to everyone involved.
