Girls excel on netball tour of Jersey
During half term a group of 30 girls from Godstowe jumped on a plane and travelled to Jersey for a five day tour of the island.
The girls were taught some new netball drills and tactics and were able to put their newly-aquired skills into practice in the competitive matches they played against the Jersey elite and performance teams - winning five out of their six matches.
They brought these skills and drills home and are now sharing them with their peers during squad practices.
As well as netball, they squeezed plenty of other activities into the programme, including: watching a live match between Jersey Jets and Kent County; bowling; an outdoor adventure morning with high ropes, archery, king swing, zip wire and a power fan drop; trips to St Helier, St Catherine’s breakwater and the beach; swimming, and Godstowe’s own “Jersey’s Got Talent” show.
Fortunately the girls (and staff) had a few days at home at the end of the half term to recharge before term recommenced on the Monday.
