Godstowe Rocks the World

Thank you to everyone who came along to “Godstowe Rocks the World” on Saturday. This fantastic event was attended by over 40 members of staff and 800 guests!  Organised by the Friends of Godstowe (FOG), it was a true reflection of the amazing community of pupils, parents and staff here.  

The event was an international themed Summer Fete with a giant show and tell, involving parent stalls representing 30 different countries. The Godstowe sports fields were transformed into a globe of worldly amusements with fun fair rides, fairground stalls, simulators, inflatables, giant garden games and obstacle courses representing each country. On the tennis courts, there was a World Sports area with a World Cup Penalty Shoot-out, Grand Prix Go-Karting and Ryder Cup Mini Golf.  In addition to this, there was a World Crafts area with Flag Making and National Peg Doll painting on the Walker Lawn.  There were also International food stalls and a Maypole Dancing Demonstration from Lodge pupils. 

Every stall looked fantastic and the effort all the parents put in was really exceptional. Well done to all the volunteers and to the acts who appeared in the show.
