Godstowe is a thriving, busy School enjoying a famous reputation in its field and now entering its 125th anniversary year. The School prepares children for entry, mostly at 13+ but some at 11+, into the leading independent senior schools. The School prides itself in academic excellence, whilst being non-selective at entry. Approximately a third of our pupils are boarders.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Deputy Head Academic to join our Senior Leadership Team. The post-holder will report directly to the Headmistress and work closely with the Deputy Head Pastoral, Deputy Head Co-Curricular and the Director of Finance and Operations.
The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of school leadership and will play a key role in building on our excellent academic provision, shaping future strategy and developing middle leadership throughout the School. This is a broad role and applicants will need to demonstrate a proven record of accomplishment in leadership in a comparable school. You will be a highly skilled leader and an exceptional communicator, combining intellectual capacity with practical skills.

Godstowe School is an independent day and boarding school for girls age 3 to 13. We have approximately 400 girls with a community of about 100 boarders from the UK as well as other countries around the world, adding an important international and multicultural dimension to the school.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and patient Houseparent for one of our three boarding houses. Under the leadership of the Head of Boarding the Houseparent will have the ability to relate to girls aged 7 to 13 and will share in the pastoral responsibility and well-being of girls outside of school curriculum time. The successful applicant will have enthusiasm for boarding life and all that it entails. They will lead a team of staff who are committed to the well-being of pupils in their care.
The position would suit someone with experience of working in a boarding environment in an independent school and will require teamwork, flexibility, compassion, resilience and a good sense of humour. The ethos of boarding at Godstowe is to provide a home-from-home feel and that of a large extended family. Every boarder is encouraged to develop her full potential in all areas of life. Our aim is for all our girls to grow up as confident, happy and successful individuals. One of the many strengths of boarding at Godstowe includes the extensive Co-Curricular programme. As a non-selective school, Godstowe is thriving in terms of examination results, enrichment, art, musical and sporting achievement.
This is a full-time residential position during term time and duties will be primarily based in the boarding house. The School offers competitive remuneration with all meals provided during term-time. The Houseparent lives in the boarding house and this accommodation is available to the post holder throughout term time and also during holidays.

Nursery Assistant

The School prepares children for entry, mostly at 13+ but some at 11+, into the leading independent senior schools. The School prides itself in academic excellence, whilst being non-selective at entry.
Our Nursery children are taught in a bright and airy building at the centre of our site. The building has recently been completely refurbished and adjusted to accommodate a modern Nursery within a traditional setting. The Nursery operates term time only and accepts children from the age of 3.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented and caring Assistant to join our Nursery, ‘Little Godstowe’.
The successful candidate will join a professional and happy team. At Godstowe, children in the Nursery follow the Early Years curriculum. The Nursery programme focuses on all aspects of the children’s academic and artistic development, with strong pastoral support and close links with parents being required at all times.
If your Early Years practice is of an excellent standard and you are ready for a new challenge, we would like to hear from you. We require a Level 3 qualified and experienced Assistant.
This is a full-time (term time only) fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
