Tatler Schools Guide 2021 - Review of Godstowe

Maybe it's their confidence or the assured preparation they're given, but Godstowe girls are a hit with the senior schools. Lifelong friendships are sealed on team-building trips - surfing and rock-climbing at Devon's Skern Lodge being a firm favourite. Sport is strong, and thanks to the new indoor pool opened by none other than Rebecca Adlington, everyone gets the chance to build confidence and improve their performance in the water. The new Dove Diploma encourages learning outside the curriculum: the girls try a range of different activities, developing a new skill set, and demonstrating resilience. Last year saw 33 pupils win scholarships and awards to an impressive roster of senior schools. But it's not all about the future. Approachable Head Sophie Green insists on 'keeping girls as girls' and creates an environment that is just cosy and cosseting enough to enable them to become robust and courageous.
